A Note From Aura Willow

Hi all,

First of all, welcome to 2017! I hope it is treating you all well.

You may have noticed that the blog has been a bit quiet lately...well that is because I have been working on some new and ongoing projects. I feel like my current novel is coming on well - my word count is currently over 56,000 words and I expect on completion will be near to 100,000! It is completely new material and I can't wait to go on the journey forward to finding a literary agent and publisher who will take good care of it and introduce it to the world.

Don't worry though - I haven't forgotten about Secrets of Oxford...

Last year I had great fun taking a small group around the city on an informal locations tour. Others who couldn't make it told me that it was something they would have liked to have partaken in. I was pleased to receive this feedback so I spent some time creating a site and materials for a self guided tour, with downloadable audio and printable guide and map. You can find that here:

I have even been Zombified in attempt to round up Zombies to my
upcoming Photo-shoot.
That was 2016 however and now we are here, 2017. I recently had a vision: Secrets of Oxford: The Show. That's right, the best story-lines of the book integrated together, accompanied by a rock sound track and executed by passionate actors on a set created by talented artists. It may seem a little extreme at the moment but every great stage show starts with an idea. I hope on my journey to find aspiring directors, producers, script writers, actors, musicians, costume and set designers. I want to join forces with people who are starting their careers too and bring the magic of Secrets of Oxford to life. So if you know anyone who fits this, then please point them my way.

In the meanwhile I want to build a portfolio of photographs showcasing scenes from the book, to do this I need models/actors who are happy to volunteer for several upcoming photo-shoots. I am particularly looking for zombies at the moment for 'Death from Dreaming Spires' scenes. Please do get in touch - I need as many as I can get. No experience needed.

You will find more information on the project's Facebook page:

I think that is all the main news for now - keep following me and the book on Facebook and Twitter for more frequent updates.

Best Wishes,

Secrets of Oxford Self Guided Locations Tour is ready to go!

Hi all!

The last couple of months have been great fun. I have been working hard on a Secrets of Oxford tour for fans of the book! I took friends around the city in August to talk about some of the locations used in the book. This was great fun and I had positive feedback.

The audio tour has been my main focus however and finally, after a lot of work, is ready! If you head over to the tour blog you will find all the resources you need to take yourself on the tour.

Please click here to be redirected to the tour blog.

I would love to hear from you if you try out the tour, meanwhile I hope you enjoy it!

Best Wishes,

An update on Oasis

Aura has donated at least 50% of her profits to OASIS since Secrets of Oxford went on sale in October 2014. You can see these on the Just Giving page. Additional to the money raised from book sales, Oasis has received a generous donation from a happy reader too! Thank you Penny Heath for this!

Taking all this into account Secrets of Oxford has so far raised £42 for OASIS autism.
